Welcome to Fort Worth Virtual ARTCC
Fort Worth Virtual Air Route
Traffic Control Center (ZFW ARTCC) is part of the VATSIM Network of virtual pilots and air
traffic controllers. Modeled on the real Fort Worth ARTCC, it covers more
than 147,000 square miles spread over parts of 5 states. It provides
services to 85 airports with instrument approach procedures and 20 radar
approach control facilities including the main one, the Dallas/Fort Worth
terminal area. It has 14 military bases, 23 military operations areas, and
8 aerial refueling tracks.

Super Bowl Event

This years Superbowl Event, as you know it is being held in Indianapolis Indiana. vZID will proudly be hosting this event on Saturday February 4, 2012 from 2200z to 0300z. The theme this year will be to have all pilots fly from the cities of their favorite NFL team. We would like to encourage every ARTCC to participate and provide at least Center Support for those transitioning from one airspace to another. We would also like, if possible, for you to provide local service as well to any of those NFL cities that are within your airspace, to give the pilot a complete ATC experience from their departure to their destination (KIND). So please join us in making this one of the most successful and highest rated events on Vatsim this year
